IBERMÚSICA

Thirteen top-level symphonic groups from 8 European countries will visit Madrid between October and May.

At Kaunus, we have not wanted to miss the presentation of the 52nd season of IBERMÚSICA. After a tough year of delays, stoppages, and cancellations due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, the music, and the show must continue. And what better way than with an exciting season, full of talent and great enthusiasm to recover the sector and maintain its quality and prestige.

To achieve this goal, IBERMÚSICA has made a big bet. A total of 13 international symphonic groups and 20 soloists will participate in the festival, which will occur in Madrid between October this year and May 2022.

Programming Season 2021-22 IBERMÚSICA

This new season will see the light in October with the Hamburg NDR Elbphilharmonie and its titular conductor, Alan Gilbert, with the fantastic violinist Joshua Bell as soloist. In November, the excellent Staatskapelle Berlin Orchestra and Daniel Barenboim, the famous pianist and orchestra director, will perform symphonies by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms in two concerts.

In December, you will be able to enjoy another of the most anticipated concerts: the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and Vladimir Jurowski at the helm. Leonidas Kavakos will perform Brahms’s Violin Concerto this evening.

The two great Italian orchestras, the Filarmonica Della Scala and the Santa Cecilia de Roma, will not miss this full season either with their respective holders, Riccardo Chailly and Sir Antonio Pappano. With the latter, the cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan will perform at Ibermúsica.

The pianist Evgeny Kissin will be in charge of inaugurating the year 2022. Two extraordinary high-level concerts will take place in February. On the one hand, the Juventudes Musicales de Madrid concert by violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter with pianist Lambert Orkis. And secondly, the concert offered by Yo-Yo Ma, who will perform in the same evening the entire suite of Bach’s Cello Suites within The Bach Project.

Spring will be full of surprises; in April, another of the highlights of 2022 will arrive, the recital that will be offered by two of the best voices in the world, Jonas Kauffman and Diana Damrau, together with the outstanding pianist Helmut Deutsch.

Without a doubt, it is a complete season, full of great performances and first-rate concerts for a year full of hope and enthusiasm, in which music and talent will once again fill the stages.
